Great Expectations is one of my favorites! It was one whose characters seemed to leap off the page for me! Happy reading! I think after having read Great Expectations I came into A Christmas Carol very positive and hoping I would love it..... I liked it pretty well but not quite as much. I think just knowing the story seemed to make it a little less exciting.
Definitely. I was saying to someone (I forget who now, maybe Kelly) that I think it's a good thing it's short. If it were more of an investment time-wise, I don't think I'd want to stick it out necessarily? The story is just so familiar.
I think one thing that surprised me is that I actually like Dickens! (I had previously been under the impression that I hate him.)
